Universal Studios Monsters At Burger King

In 1997, Burger King Kids Club meals featured the classic Universal Studios Monsters. The meals were typically sold in a generic bag with the Adventures newsletter. This usually featured games with Burger King's kid mascots. These characters were retired many years ago.

The kids included Kid Vid (the main one), Snaps, Wheels, Jaws, I/Q, Boomer, Lingo, and their pet, J.D. In this issue, they follow their dog into a haunted house. You meddling kids! The newsletter also offers tips for a safe Halloween. How about not going into a strange house inhabited by Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Creature From the Black Lagoon?

The toys were pretty nice for fast food premiums. I remember getting Dracula, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Wolf Man. I failed to get Frankenstein.

The Universal Studios Monsters were also featured in a big Halloween promotion at CVS Pharmacy in 1999. CVS had exclusive bean bag toys (remember that craze?) as well as key chains, action figures, and other collectibles. If you waited until the day after Halloween, most of these items were at least 50% off.

  1. NICE! I have the Wolfman, and squirting Creature still. Never got a Frankie however =^(

  2. Darrin, I'm sorry you did not get Frankie, either! You know, I never even saw him at any flea markets (that's how I got Dracula). Let the conspiracies begin!
